IN another first for Currajong, fitness classes have now been running for two weeks with some outstanding results.
“It has been fantastic to see everyone getting into it,” said one of the co-ordinators of the 9 Week Challenge, CDS support worker Neil Hamilton.
“Fitness, fun and interacting with each other is what it’s all about.
“We are only two weeks in and already some can’t get enough,” he said.
This week participants were tested on strength and endurance with exercises including push-ups and squats.
Participants worked on upper and lower body strength using light dumbells and small weight plates before finishing the session with some new Konga fitness dance moves.
“These sessions are beneficial for our clients as well as staff,” Neil said.
“Not just because it enables our participants to use their muscles and strengthen their core but because it helps keep them fit and active.
“We hope to see more join in the following weeks.”
