MARK Twain once said “Kindness is the language in which the deaf can hear and the blind can see!” If Twain were alive today he would certainly have seen it on display today at Currajong Disability Services where Doreen Priest and Olive Cooper have donated numerous materials to the Currajong Disability Services Sewing Group.

For Currajong Sewing Group founder and co-ordinator Deitre Jackson it is a welcomed donation and will undoubtedly be utilised by the sewing group.

“These lovely ladies have been incredible supporters of the Currajong Sewing Group,” said Deitre.

“Olive also donated items for the teddy bear donation to the Parkes Ambulance Service.

“Their spirit, ongoing thoughtfulness and commitment to seeing not just our group succeed but also Currajong, our organisation, can’t be questioned,” said Deitre.

“It is people like this that make a difference to our group or any group.”

Olive, who also makes dolls and teddy bear clothes and has a priceless collection of porcelain dolls, was rapt to be able to contribute to Currajong Sewing Group.

“It’s great that the group can get use out of all these materials,” said Olive.

“We have so much there and it is fantastic these items are getting put to use whether it be for Christmas or for new mum’s, young families or schools.

“I know I speak for both Doreen and I when I say we are so glad to be able to contribute in some way,” she said.

“We would both like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!”
