Jeanette Lovett of Currajong Disability Services with Ray Perrone

LAST Thursday January 9 at Currajong Disability Services in Parkes, one of the world’s best Elvis impersonators Ray Perrone performed his signature show again for everyone.

In what has become a regular highlight of the Elvis Festival calendar, Perrone returned to entertain and sing with NDIS participants at Currajong.

“I love coming here each year,” said Ray.

“I think I get a bigger buzz than the participants and staff do.

“It’s one of my favourite gigs and days on the calendar,” he said.

Perrone, who has been “doing Elvis shows for as long as he can remember” has had a strong and affectionate affinity with Currajong for years and gets a kick out of seeing how happy his performances make the participants.

“Seeing them sing and dance and laugh is what it’s all about,” he said.

“It’s great that the power of music and Elvis can bring so many together after all these years.

“I’ve made so many friends here now,” he said.

Currajong Disability Services Dane Millerd concurred, praising Ray for his dedication and selflessness.

“Ray is more than a performer, he is a part of the Currajong family and our participants love him,” Dane said.

“He’s fantastic with everyone and we always look forward to having him here.

“Whether he is singing Devil in Disguise or simply mingling with everyone he is a great performer and an even better bloke!”
