Dearnne Callaghan took out the sewing section at the Parkes Show.

WHILE it may have come as a surprise to many, for those in the know at Currajong Disability Services, the organisations success in the sewing section was anything but a shock.

Clients from Currajong not only picked up one first place but FIVE in a dominant display not seen since Tiger Woods 1997 triumph at the US Masters.

“It really is a tremendous achievement,” said CDS CEO Jeff Evans.

“It is something everyone should be extremely proud of and take a lot of satisfaction from.”

In a stacked and competitive field, CDS clients lead by Dearne Callaghan (who claimed a first prize) and mentored by Dietre Jackson also picked up three minor placings in one of Parkes Show’s flagship sections.

They included a second to Shannon Miller and a Highly Commended for Karen Willis among others.

The win hasn’t gone unnoticed in the Parkes community either with enquiries about orders already being made.
