STAFF PROFILE

EMMA BROWNLOW, 35, CDS Support Worker

Time in role – 2 years with CDS and in the industry.

What do you like the most about CDS and your role? I love the variety each day brings. It is a very friendly place and every day is fun and different. The staff are great and clients are awesome! Everyone is easy to get along with and I like seeing clients reach their full potential.

Why are you working in this industry? Jodie called me and I answered the call (jokes). Seriously, I find it extremely rewarding.

What is the greatest myth in this industry? That clients aren’t capable. They are very capable and can do so much more than they get credit for.

If you weren’t in this industry what would you be doing? I would be working in nursing. I was previously in the health industry but wanted to take a different path.

If you were CEO for a day what would you change? I think more workshops and training from external experts in the disability and health industry would be great.
