2LVR Forbes has been operating since 1985. A community, volunteer-based radio station, the organisation has 30 broadcasters and has had everyone from Little Pattie and Celia Pavey grace their studios. They serve an important role as an information outlet and entertainment source in the Central West community and reach from North Young, Cowra and Grenfell to West Wyalong, Condobolin, Parkes and Dubbo through to Orange. Founding member Kevin Dwyer was more than happy to show everyone from CDS around and what a day it was!

“We are always looking for volunteers,” said Kevin Dwyer.

“We welcome inquiries and hope to be able to accommodate everyone.

“I know that we are also just as excited to have the CDS group here today as they are about being here,” he said.

Five clients and two support staff travelled over from Parkes to see first-hand how a live radio station works and also to learn about broadcasting and systems.

“I think it was great,” said Jonty Ralph.

“The participants had a ball.

“None of us had ever been into a radio station before so it was good to experience that first hand.”
