our story

Currajong Disability Services began as Westview Special School, providing education services before 1983. In 1985, the school transitioned into disability support, using funds from the land sale to open the first group home in Parkes. With NSW Government support, the home housed 5 residents.
In 1993, Westview Group Homes was incorporated to deliver supported accommodation, and families founded Currajong Enterprises Inc. to support school leavers. By 2001, services expanded to include Day Programs, Flexible Respite, and an Outreach Centre in Condobolin.
In 2003, the two organisations merged to become Currajong Disability Services Inc. Over the next decade, Currajong grew its service offerings, securing funding for Community Participation, Transition to Work, Life Choices, and Active Ageing programs.

By 2015, Currajong operated multiple group homes and managed a purpose-built three-villa complex in Parkes. With a strong reputation for quality and inclusion, Currajong had become a leading provider in the region.
The rollout of the NDIS in 2017 marked a turning point. Currajong transformed its systems, culture, and operations to embrace greater choice and control for people with disability. That same year, we became a Company Limited by Guarantee, reinforcing our commitment to strong governance and sustainability.
In 2019, we acquired a new headquarters at 28–32 Clarinda St, Parkes, moving in mid-December 2021. A masterplan for development of the site was approved in 2023, and in 2025, construction began on Stage 1—including 11 purpose-built supported living units and shared amenities.
